LINE MASTERY SALTWATER

For years, the SA Mastery Series lines have been among our most popular and best performing lines. While some things have changed, one thing hasn't: the Mastery Series lines continue to deliver just as well, if not better, than they ever have before. With our AST shine additive, Dry-Tip technology, color change at the back of the head and the SA•ID identification system, the Mastery lines are still the best soft lines at their price on the market. From dry fly purists to tarpon hounds, SA's Mastery Series provides every angler with the lines he needs to catch the fish he craves. If I had to choose a saltwater fly line for a variety of situations and species, the Mastery Saltwater cone would have to be one of the finalists. The versatile compound design provides enough power to cut through the wind, while maintaining a gentle delivery for spooky fish on the flats. Built for a wide range of temperatures and environments, the Mastery Saltwater simply does it all.

- Compound cone spins large flies

- Designed for use in temperate and tropical climates

- Two tones for better visibility

- Variable head lengths for long distance casting and quick strikes to passing fish

- Small diameter to deal with windy conditions

- Compound cone spins large flies

- Tropi-Core technology for tropical climates

- SA ID – SA MS SW WF XF (X = line thickness)

TECHNOLOGY:

TROPI CORE: Tropical environments not only put a strain on the angler, but can also be taxing on the fishing line. Cables with Tropi-Core™ technology can withstand the hottest boat decks and warmest aquatic environments. Combine Tropi-Core™ technology with our patented hard saltwater coating and species-specific tapers, and you have the best in saltwater line technology.

SCIENTIFIC ANGLERS LINE IDENTIFICATION: Discover the scientific anglers line identification system. SA•ID is an innovative line tracking system that allows you to identify your lines at a glance. Who knows if a muzzle is 200 grains or 300? Just look at the SA•ID. The SA•ID can be found on the first 1-2 feet of the tip section of the line.

WELDED LOOPS: Exceptionally smooth and durable, our Welded Loops produce smoother casts and easier turnover with a seamless transition from fly line to loop, ensuring softer landings and cleaner pickups. The sleek design also maintains buoyancy for improved line buoyancy and allows for quicker connections between line and leaders or line and backing.

PLUS SHOOTING TECHNOLOGY: Just like our patented Advanced Shooting Technology, ST+ is a slippery additive integrated into the coatings of our fly lines, providing continuous line glide as the coating continues to wear. The ST+ additive improves line flow even more than AST, and lines with ST+ shoot farther and float higher than any line ever has before.

RECOMMENDED CARE:

Do you think your floating line isn't floating as well as it used to or isn't as smooth as it used to be? The reasons and ways to solve this problem are probably quite simple. Fishing lines float because they are lighter than water and because they are hydrophobic; they repel water. In order for the lines to float at their best, both of these features must work. The density of the line will not change, it will not absorb water, it will not soak up and sink, but if it gets dirty it will not repel water well and will float lower in surface tension and may be dragged under water now then. The key to good flotation is to keep the lines clean so the hydrophobic surface works. Cleaning with soap and water on a cloth removes most dirt, but cleaning swabs work even better. Cleaned properly, your lines will float better, cast better and last longer, definitely a good compromise for a couple of minutes of line maintenance. To use the cleaning swab, pinch the swab over the line so that the abrasive, non-foam side touches the line. Pull the line through the pad while maintaining some tension. Repeat this process until some of the fly line color is visible on the pad. Clean your lines every 2-3 rides, or whenever you think dirt is hindering their performance. Cleaning swabs are easy to carry in your vest or gear bag and can be used at any time, wet or dry. Please note that line dressing can be used to reduce drag during competitions or in practical casting scenarios, but we do not recommend it for fishing.
