LINE MASTERY ART
For years, the SA Mastery Series lines have been among our most popular and best performing lines. While some things have changed, one thing hasn't: the Mastery Series lines continue to deliver as well, if not better, than they ever have before. With our AST shine additive, Dry-Tip technology, color change at the back of the head and the SA•ID identification system, the Mastery lines are still the best soft lines at their price on the market. From dry fly purists to tarpon hounds, SA's Mastery Series provides every angler with the lines he needs to catch the fish he craves. The All-Round Taper, or ART, is perfectly designed to handle almost any freshwater fishing situation imaginable. From small dry flies to nymph rigs, the ART has the power to spin any fly without sacrificing finesse. Built with an extended front cone for precise deliveries, the ART features a subtle color scheme with a camouflage tip for even the wariest fish. Excels at one-handed Spey casting.
- Heavy half size for quick loading of rods
- Powerful taper helps turn long dry fly leaders and deliver nymphs and small streamers
- Great for one-handed Spey casting
- Super stealthy two-tone colors with new camouflage tip for wary fish
- Floating texture on the tip for greater flotation
- Multifilament braided core for cold water applications
- SA MS ART WF XF (X = line thickness)
TECHNOLOGY:
DESIGNED BY FLYFISH EUROPE: To meet the specific needs of European fly fishermen, Flyfish Europe has collaborated with Scientific Anglers to design, manufacture and engineer a range of fly lines that are carefully attuned to the conditions faced by fly fishermen around the European continent.
WELDED LOOPS: Exceptionally smooth and durable, our Welded Loops produce smoother casts and easier turnover with a seamless transition from fly line to loop, ensuring softer landings and cleaner pickups. The sleek design also maintains buoyancy for improved line buoyancy and allows for quicker connections between line and leaders or line and backing.
SCIENTIFIC ANGLERS LINE IDENTIFICATION: Discover the scientific anglers line identification system. SA•ID is an innovative line tracking system that allows you to identify your lines at a glance. Who knows if a muzzle is 200 grains or 300? Just look at the SA•ID. The SA•ID can be found on the first 1-2 feet of the tip section of the line.
ADVANCED SHOOTING TECHNOLOGY: Scientific Anglers' patented dry-slick technology provides seamless line glide, allowing the line to shoot farther as it moves through the guides. Lines with AST easily shed dirt, algae and other parasitic particles, allowing the lines to cast farther, float higher and stay cleaner than traditional lines.
SHOOTING TEXTURE: Featuring microreplication technology, the SA Floating Texture is a radical modification of typically smooth-surfaced fly lines. Its micro-textured surface traps air to provide superior draw and buoyancy, while eliminating line snagging and significantly reducing drag. The lines sit higher in the water, offering less drag and water splash, as well as easier repairs, roll casting and pick-ups.
CAMO TIP: Our Camo technology creates a stealthy blend of subtle colors on fly lines, providing much-needed stealth for wary fish, in shallow water situations and whenever additional deception is needed.
RECOMMENDED CARE:
Do you think your floating line isn't floating as well as it used to or isn't as smooth as it used to be? The reasons and ways to solve this problem are probably quite simple. Fishing lines float because they are lighter than water and because they are hydrophobic; they repel water. In order for the lines to float at their best, both of these features must work. The density of the line will not change, it will not absorb water, it will not soak up and sink, but if it gets dirty it will not repel water well and will float lower in surface tension and may be dragged under water now then. The key to good flotation is to keep the lines clean so the hydrophobic surface works. Cleaning with soap and water on a cloth removes most dirt, but cleaning swabs work even better. Cleaned properly, your lines will float better, cast better and last longer, definitely a good compromise for a couple of minutes of line maintenance. To use the cleaning swab, pinch the swab over the line so that the abrasive, non-foam side touches the line. Pull the line through the pad while maintaining some tension. Repeat this process until some of the fly line color is visible on the pad. Clean your lines every 2-3 rides, or whenever you think dirt is hindering their performance. Cleaning swabs are easy to carry in your vest or gear bag and can be used at any time, wet or dry. Please note that line dressing can be used to reduce drag during competitions or in practical casting scenarios, but we do not recommend it for fishing.
