AIR CEL TAIL
Air Cell Short:
Quick loading floating fly line. Air Cel Flight Lines have performed well and provided great value for decades. Paying for quality has never been so easy and convenient. These lines have all the properties needed in a fly line: good float, durability and tapers that work well for trout, panfish and bass species.
- Weight forward fly line with a welded ring on the front
- Braided multifilament core
- Short head design with rigging line provides flies and a short to medium radius with extended line control
- Overweight for a full line
- Suitable for one-handed Spey casting
- Based on Mastery SBT
Air Cel - Air Cel WF:
Can't decide what to fish? Our Air Cel general purpose floating line is a simple, no-frills, heavy weight floating line perfect for casting dry flies, nymphs and streamers to trout or grayling in streams, rivers or lakes. It may not cost much, but that certainly doesn't mean the Air Cel won't get the job done.
- The original and modern floating fly line
- Reliable flotation and durability
- Raised relief in the maneuvering section to indicate the ideal point to start the launch
- Medium length head for general fishing situations
- Braided multifilament core
TECHNOLOGY
- Welded ring:
Exceptionally smooth and durable, our Welded Loops produce smoother casts and easier turnover with a seamless transition from fly line to loop, ensuring softer landings and cleaner pickups. The sleek design also maintains buoyancy for improved line buoyancy and allows for quicker connections between line and leaders or line and backing.
RECOMMENDED CARE:
Do you think your floating line isn't floating as well as it used to or isn't as smooth as it used to be? The reasons and ways to solve this problem are probably quite simple. Fishing lines float because they are lighter than water and because they are hydrophobic; they repel water. In order for the lines to float at their best, both of these features must work. The density of the line will not change, it will not absorb water, it will not soak up and sink, but if it gets dirty it will not repel water well and will float lower in surface tension and may be dragged under water now then. The key to good flotation is to keep the lines clean so the hydrophobic surface works. Cleaning with soap and water on a cloth removes most dirt, but cleaning swabs work even better. Cleaned properly, your lines will float better, cast better and last longer, definitely a good compromise for a couple of minutes of line maintenance. To use the cleaning swab, pinch the swab over the line so that the abrasive, non-foam side touches the line. Pull the line through the pad while maintaining some tension. Repeat this process until some of the fly line color is visible on the pad. Clean your lines every 2-3 rides, or whenever you think dirt is hindering their performance. Cleaning swabs are easy to carry in your vest or gear bag and can be used at any time, wet or dry. Please note that line dressing can be used to reduce drag during competitions or in practical casting scenarios, but we do not recommend it for fishing.
