FLY REEL LITESPEED WHISKEY

Light year. The distance light travels in a single year; the time needed for the design to evolve to the next step. What can you say bigger but lighter, lighter but stronger? Of course it can be done. We've done it time and time again, but does there come a time when you can't raise the bar? No, there are always improvements to be made, new ways of thinking, new materials and processes to exploit. As we said, the benchmark of a fly reel's performance is the retrieve rate per ounce. If you've never thought about it before, think about it now: There is no downside to the fast recovery speed other than the extra weight. For example, consider the 2021 Litespeed Gen 6: CNC machined from material artfully distributed along critical load paths, stable and durable, so light you might forget it's there, but good-looking enough to make you remember it is. The art of reeling comes from the science of reeling, but ultimately both art and science, when kept in balance, serve to make us smile. LSF – The LSF is the freshwater version of the new Litespeed. The frame is based on the tapered system found in our other reels with the addition of a click stop drag knob and a unique spring set that creates a linear progression of torque with very fine resolution at the light end of its range . The LSF spool and frame architecture is super-arbor scaled for high recovery, yet understated and open to aid line drying and, of course, reduce weight.

ADVISABLE CARE

1) Do not under any circumstances remove the drag knob or the two-hole nut in the center of the drag knob.

2) Always make sure that the packing cap is tight, especially before using the reel for the first time or after reversing the recovery direction. Be sure to periodically check that the cap is securely inserted; It must always be tightened firmly by hand, do not use a tool. If installed correctly, the packing plug should be seated fully on the drive cylinder.

3) The drive system is designed to operate without lubrication. Do not use any type of oil or lubricant in or around the drag system. You can apply a small amount of WD-40 to the recovery handle to remove any dirt buildup between the handle and the handle shaft.

Fresh Water Use: Occasionally rinse the reel thoroughly under fresh running water and clean the spool and frame to remove any debris or dirt buildup. Be sure to clean the spool pin and keep it free of debris.

Saltwater Use: Be sure to rinse your reel under fresh running water after each use in a salty environment. Occasionally, flush the clutch by doing the following:

1) Remove the coil, unscrew the packing cap and remove the red and silver clutch assembly.

2) Thoroughly rinse all components, including the inside of the drive cylinder, with fresh running water.

3) Allow all components to dry completely before reassembling them.
