FLY ROD SECTOR ''NZ SPECIAL''
Scott Fly Rod Company introduces the all-new Sector Series of hand-crafted, high-performance saltwater fly rods. Sector rods enhance Scott's award-winning Meridian series to bring you a new level of performance and reliability in saltwater fly rods. Scott has combined all the proven Meridian rod technologies with new tapers, new components and the all-new Carbon Web technology. Scott Carbon Web increases torsional stability and durability by encasing unidirectional fibers in an ultra-lightweight, multidirectional carbon fiber web. These fibers help counteract twisting forces offering better tracking and long positive pickups to redirect throws. They also help reduce the propagation of stress and impact microcracks that can easily occur in unidirectional layering and lead to failure.
Sector rods feature newly developed components that challenge harsh saltwater environments:
Rail sets are PVD coated with a low-reflection coating for even greater durability and stealth.
The reel seat is made of high quality oak wood.
Flor-quality cork grips are crafted into Scott's modified shape in a saltwater-appropriate length and diameter, and the new combat tips feature thicker, softer rubber for added comfort in tough fights.
The Sector New Zealand Special has been specifically developed to cast everything you need to catch trout in clear water and packed conditions - be it nymph rigs, large dry flies - or even streamers. A tireless all-rounder!
TECHNICAL FEATURES:
X-CORE: Improved feel, incredible stability and unmatched performance. X-Core combines industry-leading composite technologies with cutting-edge design. Diameter is proportional to stiffness and strength, and X-Core, or Expanded Core, technology delivers blanks that transmit feel and maintain stability better than any other design approach. We use fast-taper mandrels with low-mass, thin-walled blanks and proprietary ARC bracing to create rods that have stiffness with feel and stability with feel. This design helps the rod come to life in your hands. This is a superior approach to slow-taper, thick-walled designs that offer rigidity at the expense of sensitivity.
ReAct: ReAct technology combines our X-Core design with complex new materials and a taper system to create a breakthrough in fast action rod design. Distance, control and accuracy are compromised by the waves vibrating in the rod, even after casting. Simply making the rod stiffer to stop these vibrations kills the feel. ReAct counteracts vibrations that steal energy by accelerating blank recovery without the need to stiffen the rod with more material. This sets the sensation quickly. And that's a really good thing.
NATURAL FINISH: Walk down a rod rack at your local fly shop and you'll notice something different about Scott rods. Like everything we do, Scott Natural Finish aims to make your rod lighter, stronger and better performing. Most of the other rods on the shelf are run through a belt sander, stripping away the outer power fibers of the blank and introducing variation. Any unintentional flattening during the sanding process will weaken the blank, and blanks are designed with a margin of error to allow for over-sanding. After the blank is sanded, a high-gloss varnish is applied to add charm to the shelf. Natural finish blanks are not prone to sanding belt tearing, nor are they covered with heavy varnish to add prominence to your fly shop. We firmly believe in the natural beauty of graphite. A natural finish blank is constructed to exacting tolerances. Scott's advanced resin systems permeate the blank, leaving a durable finish that will stand up to years of abuse.
MULTIMODULE: Optimized flexibility and recovery. Scott pioneered the use of Multimodule fiber layers in vacuum design. By varying the tensile modulus of the fiber along the length of the barrel, we are able to precisely control the stiffness and recovery rate of our blanks. The result is a barrel that loads and unloads more smoothly.
MILITARY SPECS: Another new offering from Scott. Most reel seats are made with a type 2 anodization that is shiny, thin and easily ruined. Scratches in Type 2 anodizing expose the underlying aluminum, leading to worn finishes and potential corrosion. Our Mil-Spec III anodizing penetrates the surface of the aluminum, creating the hardest, most durable, corrosion-resistant finish available. Mil-Spec III prevents galvanic reactions with dissimilar metals and is resistant to temperatures above 900 degrees Fahrenheit.
MADE IN THE USA: Every Scott rod is made from start to finish in Montrose, Colorado. We take our mission to handcraft high-performance rods very seriously. We use the knowledge gained from forty years of design experience with our commitment to handcrafting every fly rod we produce to offer you top performance and benchmark quality. It's in the small details that distinguish exceptional rods from simply good ones.
FIBERFUSE RESIN: Our all-new enhanced FiberFuse resin system uses new chemistry to create bonds between each graphite fiber that are over 20% stronger than conventional epoxy resins.
ARC: Advanced reinforced carbon reduces torque and increases strength. Scott is the leader in carbon blank reinforcements. Our latest ARC technology adds rim strength to our blanks without adding weight and counteracts torque that can reduce casting accuracy and line control.
CERACOIL: Ceracoil stripping guides combine nickel titanium "shape memory" frames with super smooth, high-tech zirconium inserts for a new patent-pending guide that will never corrode, return to its original shape when bent and It has the lowest friction coefficient for a better shooting line. And just to exaggerate, our Ceracoil rails are PVD coated with a low-reflective black finish. The Physical Vapor Deposition process creates a smoother, more durable finish than traditional plated finishes.
CARBON WEB: Scott's all-new Carbon Web technology increases torsional stability and barrel durability by encasing unidirectional fibers in an ultra-lightweight, multi-directional carbon fiber mesh. These fibers help counteract twisting forces offering better tracking and positive pickups on the long line to redirect casts. They also help reduce the propagation of stress or impact microcracks that can easily occur in one-way layups and lead to failure. Combining the Carbon Web with Scott's ARC and Multi-Module Lay-Ups creates the latest revolutionary advancement in fly rod technology. And if you just want a quick translation of all this technology, it simply means higher performance, easier fishing and more fun for you.
