VOLANTIS TAIL

Your favorite line for sea trout and, last but not least, for bass. This integrated line gives you the best of two worlds: the load capacities and casting distance of a shooting head, and the presentation and feel of a traditional WF line. It excels in deeper water and tidal currents or when fishing with high speed lures. A long casting, long lasting integrated line that helps you target large sea trout at range, covering water like a pro. This line will help you get below the water and discover what's underneath, as well as help you fish high-speed flies without skirting the surface. How can something be clear and camouflaged? This is easy. We took a mottled core and sprinkled it with our new, supple clear coat creating the perfect stealthy line. The Volantis Clear Camo simply disappears beneath the surface and features an intermediate sink rate to tempt fish sitting just below the chop.

TECHNOLOGY:

DESIGNED BY FLYFISHING EUROPE: To meet the specific needs of European fly fishermen, Flyfish Europe has collaborated with Scientific Anglers to design, manufacture and engineer a range of fly lines that are carefully attuned to the conditions faced by fly fishermen around the European continent.

ADVANCED SHOOTING TECHNOLOGY: Scientific Anglers' patented dry-slick technology provides seamless line glide, allowing the line to shoot farther as it moves through the guides. Lines with AST easily shed dirt, algae and other parasitic particles, allowing the lines to cast farther, float higher and stay cleaner than traditional lines.

SCIENTIFIC ANGLERS LINE IDENTIFICATION: Discover the Scientific Anglers thread identification system. SA•ID is an innovative line tracking system that allows you to identify your lines at a glance. Who knows if a muzzle is 200 grains or 300? Just look at the SA•ID. The SA•ID can be found on the first 1-2 feet of the tip section of the line.

VIBRANT COLOUR HANDLING SECTION: The vibrant color management section allows you to improve the times. It works as a visual reminder of where the shooting line tapers into the shooting head and will help you cast more consistently with the overhang you prefer. Plus, when you pick up line or roll cast, the bright color management section helps you cast more efficiently.

WELDED LOOPS: Exceptionally smooth and durable, our Welded Loops produce smoother casts and easier turnover with a seamless transition from fly line to loop, ensuring softer landings and cleaner pickups. The sleek design also maintains buoyancy for improved line buoyancy and allows for quicker connections between line and leaders or line and backing.

SONAR SINKING TECHNOLOGY: For every fish eating above, there are ten eating below. Our SONAR sinking technology takes the flies where the fish are: below the surface. Using proprietary tungsten formulations and a unique taper, SONAR sinking technology knocks down flies and keeps them there.

SHOOTING TEXTURE: Scientific Anglers' shooting texture features precisely replicated hemispherical cavities, similar to those found on the surface of a golf ball. This evolution of our texturing technology has less texture on its surface, so it looks like a traditional fly line but offers the benefits of texturing. The result is a line that lasts longer, floats higher, casts easier and, above all, fishes better.

CAMO TIP: Our Camo technology creates a stealthy blend of subtle colors on fly lines, providing much-needed stealth for wary fish, in shallow water situations and whenever additional deception is needed.

RECOMMENDED CARE:

Do you think your floating line isn't floating as well as it used to or isn't as smooth as it used to be? The reasons and ways to solve this problem are probably quite simple. Fishing lines float because they are lighter than water and because they are hydrophobic; they repel water. In order for the lines to float at their best, both of these features must work. The density of the line will not change, it will not absorb water, it will not soak up and sink, but if it gets dirty it will not repel water well and will float lower in surface tension and may be dragged under water now then. The key to good flotation is to keep the lines clean so the hydrophobic surface works. Cleaning with soap and water on a cloth removes most dirt, but cleaning swabs work even better. Cleaned properly, your lines will float better, cast better and last longer, certainly a good compromise for a couple of minutes of line maintenance. To use the cleaning swab, pinch the swab over the line so that the abrasive, non-foam side touches the line. Pull the line through the pad while maintaining some tension. Repeat this process until some of the fly line color is visible on the pad. Clean your lines every 2-3 rides, or whenever you think dirt is hindering their performance. Cleaning swabs are easy to carry in your vest or gear bag and can be used at any time, wet or dry. Please note that line dressing can be used to reduce drag during competitions or in practical casting scenarios, but we do not recommend it for fishing.
