When designing our SONAR Big Water Taper Series, we had a specific goal in mind: to create the strongest fly line in the world. Built on the industry's first 100-pounder. monofilament core, the SONAR Titan BWT Max sink is built for the blue water beasts of your dreams (or nightmares). With a super-fast sinking head and a core capable of pulling semi-trucks out of the depths (hyperbole), this is a line for 15-weight rods and fish that weigh more than you.

Scientific Anglers Line Identification

Discover the scientific angler line identification system. SA•ID is an innovative line tracking system that allows you to identify your lines at a glance. Who knows if a muzzle is 200 grains or 300? Just look at the SA•ID. The SA•ID can be found on the first 1-2 feet of the tip section of the line.

Shooting Texture

Scientific Anglers' shooting texture features precisely replicated hemispherical cavities, similar to those found on the surface of a golf ball. This evolution of our texturing technology has less texture on its surface, so it looks like a traditional fly line but offers the benefits of texturing. The result is a line that lasts longer, floats higher, casts easier and, above all, fishes better.

Welded Loops

Exceptionally smooth and durable, our Welded Loops produce smoother casts and easier turnover with a seamless transition from fly line to loop, ensuring softer landings and cleaner pickups. The sleek design also maintains buoyancy for improved line buoyancy and allows for quicker connections between line and leaders or line and backing.

Sonar Sinking Technology

For every fish eating above, there are ten eating below. Our SONAR sinking technology takes the flies where the fish are: below the surface. Using proprietary tungsten formulations and a unique taper, SONAR sinking technology knocks down flies and keeps them there.

100 lb Core

In developing lines that can withstand fish like arapaima or giant trevally, we realized that the first thing we needed to do was strengthen the core. And we did it to strengthen it. Lines with our 100 lb. the core has a super tough single strand monofilament core designed to handle the hottest environments and biggest fish.

Shooting Technology PLUS

Just like our patented Advanced Shooting Technology, ST+ is a slip additive integrated into the coatings of our fly lines, providing continuous line glide as the coating continues to wear. The ST+ additive improves line flow even more than AST, and lines with ST+ shoot farther and float higher than any line has before.
