FLY REEL LITESPEED RIVIERA
The Marine version of Litespeed features a hybrid clutch system, which shares some elements of the Cobalt clutch: fixed pin, large heat-absorbing conical surfaces, click stop clutch knob. The LS M incorporates close-tolerance composite bearings and features the same set of linear springs as the LS F, optimized for each coil size. Like our Cobalt reel, it has an IPX8 waterproof rating up to 100 feet. The frame and coil of the LS M share the same open structure as the LS F, with an emphasis on greater rigidity and stability. The art of reeling comes from the science of reeling, but ultimately both art and science, when kept in balance, serve to make us smile. Made in the USA and assembled in Boise, Idaho.
Cobalt-style hybrid drag system:
- Largest shaft diameters available to date
- The lightest size reels to date, yet with an extremely durable construction
- Drag system with nominal pressure (IPX).
- Spool retention system with threaded nut
- Indexing drag knob with click settings
- Larger, high-torque Delrin/Teflon composite drag cone (up to 15 lb.).
- Linear progression drag springs: predictable drag tension
RECOMMENDED CURE:
1) Never remove the clutch knob or the two-hole nut in the center of the clutch knob.
2) Always make sure that the packaging cap is tight, especially before using the reel for the first time or after reversing the direction of recovery. Be sure to periodically check that the cap is securely inserted; It must always be tightened firmly by hand, do not use a tool. If installed correctly, the packing plug should be fully inserted into the drive cylinder.
3)The drive system is designed to operate without lubrication. Do not use any type of oil or lubricant in or around the drag system. You can apply a small amount of WD-40 to the recovery handle to remove any dirt buildup between the handle and the handle shaft.
Fresh Water Use: Occasionally rinse the reel thoroughly under fresh running water and clean the spool and frame to remove any debris or buildup of dirt. Be sure to clean the spool pin and keep it free of debris.
Saltwater Use: Be sure to rinse your reel under fresh running water after each use in a salty environment. Occasionally, wash the clutch by doing the following:
1) Remove the spool, unscrew the packing cap and remove the red and silver clutch assembly.
2) Thoroughly rinse all components, including the inside of the drive cylinder, with fresh running water.
3) Allow all components to dry completely before reassembling them.
