TECHNICAL FEATURES:

ARC2: Scott introduced ultra-lightweight unidirectional carbon fiber reinforcements to the world over 15 years ago. Our Advanced Reinforced Carbon (ARC) adds directional stability and rim strength while minimizing additional weight. Our next generation ARC is over 35% lighter and sets a new record in ultra-lightweight multi-layer blank construction. The result is even greater torsional stability with substantially lighter weight. This helps your rod track better for greater loop control and pinpoint accuracy.

ReAct: ReAct technology combines our X-Core design with complex new materials and a taper system to create a breakthrough in fast action rod design. Distance, control and accuracy are compromised by the waves vibrating in the rod, even after casting. Simply making the rod stiffer to stop these vibrations kills the feel. ReAct counteracts vibrations that steal energy by accelerating blank recovery without the need to stiffen the rod with more material. This sets the sensation quickly. And that's a really good thing.

CARBON LINK: is a precision construction technique with a new innovative resin system to bind carbon fibers into a very dense matrix. The result? An exponentially lighter and more efficient rod that reduces fatigue and casting effort, while improving accuracy performance and versatility. X-CORE: Improved feel, incredible stability and unmatched performance. X-Core combines industry-leading composite technologies with cutting-edge design. Diameter is proportional to stiffness and strength, and X-Core, or Expanded Core, technology delivers blanks that transmit feel and maintain stability better than any other design approach. We use fast-taper mandrels with low-mass, thin-walled blanks and proprietary ARC bracing to create rods that have stiffness with feel and stability with feel. This design helps the rod come to life in your hands. This is a superior approach to slow-taper, thick-walled designs that offer rigidity at the expense of sensitivity.

MULTIMODULE: Optimized flexibility and recovery. Scott pioneered the use of multimodule fiber layers in vacuum design. By varying the tensile modulus of the fiber along the length of the barrel, we are able to precisely control the stiffness and recovery rate of our blanks. The result is a barrel that loads and unloads more smoothly.

NATURAL FINISH: Walk down a rod holder at your local fly shop and you'll notice something different about Scott rods. Like everything we do, Scott Natural Finish aims to make your rod lighter, stronger and better performing. Most of the other rods on the shelf are run through a belt sander, stripping away the outer power fibers of the blank and introducing variation. Any unintentional flattening during the sanding process will weaken the blank, and blanks are designed with a margin of error to allow for over-sanding. After the blank is sanded, a high-gloss varnish is applied to add charm to the shelf. Natural finish blanks are not prone to sanding belt tearing, nor are they covered with heavy varnish to add prominence to your fly shop. We firmly believe in the natural beauty of graphite. A natural finish blank is constructed to exacting tolerances. Scott's advanced resin systems permeate the blank, leaving a durable finish that will stand up to years of abuse.

MILITARY SPEC: Another novelty offered by Scott. Most reel seats are made with a type 2 anodization that is shiny, thin and easily ruined. Scratches in Type 2 anodizing expose the underlying aluminum, leading to worn finishes and potential corrosion. Our Mil-Spec III anodizing penetrates the surface of the aluminum, creating the hardest, most durable, corrosion-resistant finish available. Mil-Spec III prevents galvanic reactions with dissimilar metals and is resistant to temperatures above 900 degrees Fahrenheit.

TITANIUM: With the highest strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance of any metal, our titanium guide frames let you worry about fishing, not salt. When we set out to build the best fly rods, we knew we had to use the best components. We use guides made from materials chosen for their strength, durability, lightness and corrosion resistance. The frames are made of pure titanium: 65% lighter than equivalent stainless steel rails and 100% corrosion resistant. Silicon carbide (SiC) rings are diamond polished to create the smoothest surface of any ceramic material. Just like our frames, SiC is resistant to abrasion, corrosion and thermal shock. Why would you want guides made from anything else?

UNIVERSAL GUIDES: These new patented American-made guides from Snake Brand feature radiused feet that conform to the blank, have the best corrosion resistance, and also have a self-lubricating finish to pull the line farther.
