Think of your fly as a projectile, your line as a powder charge, that permit gliding at 70 feet as a silhouette. Aim and shoot. Cobalt rods are built on a hyper-fast blank made to deliver incredible line speed and wind-conquering loops, with enough flex in the tip and midsection to let you feel the loaded action but plenty of muscle down deep to pick up that 70 feet of wire for a quick relaunch. Based on our popular SS-Salt blanks with select hardware and proprietary Lockdown reel seat, Cobalt is our next evolution in saltwater performance.

- Ultra-fast high modulus blank // Cobalt rods are based on our famous SS-Salt blanks, crafted to deliver incredible line speed and wind-conquering loops. Flexible enough in the tip and midsection to let you feel the load of the action, but plenty of muscle to pick up that 70 feet of line for a quick relaunch.

- Line ID // Easy to read line weight laser engraving for easy identification of rods in boat rod holders

- "Sky Grey" finish // "Sky Grey" flat finish with UV stabilizers. The dark glossy finishes might look sharp in your hand or on the shelf, but ask that nervous guy who wakes up at 10am what he thinks

- Hybrid Composite Grips // Natural cork is a wonderful material: functional, clean and elegant. However, repeated pressure, sunlight and exposure to salt can wreak havoc on it. We mitigate damage to grips by adding composite cork at key stress points. We also chose a natural colored composite, just to keep things classy
