FLY SALMON SERIES CLASSIC

This is our largest fly series. We call them classics because of the way they are tied: a wing dividing the front hackles and with the balancing 1/2 turbo cone as head. Most of our flies originates from this family, the complex fly with all ingredients. To us these are the most fun to both tie and fish – they are the classics of our time!

THE FLY

MODEL GREY & GREEN

To harmonize the fly with the water and in clear water almost make it disappear is often the key to the success. This fly was tied for the greenish river, but works almost better the clearer it is. It becomes the clear water ghost that many times proved to be very effective. Fish it near the fast water where the broken surface gives the spooky fish shelter – deadly!

MODEL BLACK GREEN HELMET

Black and chartreuse colours are as classic for clear waters as orange and brown for slightly colored. We fish this version from medium to quite big sizes. Litza, Gaula, Aa, Laerdal and many, many other classic rivers have a tint of green to them. Here black and green flies out fish most. For us it fishes the best on that quite bright but cloudy day.

MODEL KRAKEN 

Big and bad, this is our number one fly for the dark. With phosphorescent tubing, cone, flash and rubber legs this is the fly for the trickiest salmon. The phosphor will shine up the night and some fish just love it. The darker it gets the better it is. With these materials, you don’t need to load the material with flashlight, they will find enough light to shine. This is also our favourite fly for big fall sea trout.

MODEL SILLEN

This is a favourite sunshine fly. When the river is turning blue it’s unbeatable, but it’s also great in crystal clear rivers. To make the fly blend in is important especially on the clear day in clear water. This is a fly that works great in the spring too, a big flashy Sillen is a superb cold-water weapon as long as the water is clear. We fish this favourite fly in all sizes down to just a few mm.

MODEL HAMILTON

Hamilton was born a night on the Alta, on the Barilla beat. Mikael had a couple nice big fish on this special fly, down in the tail at “Hamilton”. Ever since it has proven to be a great over all favourite for daytime fishing in any water colour. The black and yellow fly has been classic ever since the days of the Jock Scott. We fish it most often in medium sizes.

MODEL SIERRAKORVA

Pahtakorva’s colourful cousin! When the river get a bit more than tea colour to it - this is so deadly. A pattern many should fish more often. It got its name from The Nedre Sierra Pool on the Alta where it has taken a few fat ones. We love this fly, one we think is beautiful and that works so well in the humus colour. We fish it often in medium sizes down to 4 cm.
